SUMMARY:Cowboy Mouth
DESCRIPTION:Much like gumbo\, the famous dish of their hometown\, the New Orleans-born Cowboy Mouth uses a potent blend of musical ingredients — rock\, blues\, punk\, funk\, country\, pop\, soul\, and whatever else feels good – to create their bodacious\, kickass tunes. Frontman\, drummer\, and co-founder Fred LeBlanc has asserted\, “If The Neville Brothers and The Clash had a baby\, it would be Cowboy Mouth.” His description not only reflects the group’s amazingly diverse sound\, but it also conveys the fire and commitment they bring to their music. \n\n\n\nCowboy Mouth has perfected their wonderfully rambunctious style over the band’s three decades together. During that time\, they have sold over a half a million albums domestically\, performed before more than 10 million people\, and played over 3\,000 concerts. These relentless road warriors built their reputation and developed their devoted fan base through powerhouse live performances (frequently averaging 250 gigs a year). “With every show\, no matter where it is\, we try to turn it into New Orleans during the middle of Mardi Gras\,” LeBlanc proclaims. “It’s like a southern gospel revival without the religion” – unless your religion is rock ‘n’ roll!

The Capitol Bones has performed concerts at schools\, concert halls\, and festivals for over 30 years. The current trombone section has been intact for well over ten years. We use the Stan Kenton model for The Capitol Bones\, two bass trombones and three tenor trombones. The bass trombonists are the power and stability that the rest of the section locks onto and builds from. Jeff Cortazzo and Jerry Amoury are the bass trombonists\, and the tenors are Jay Gibble\, Jim McFalls\, and Matt Niess.

SUMMARY:Fighting Gravity
DESCRIPTION:Fighting Gravity (originally named Boy O Boy) was formed in the late 80’s at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Constant touring over the next two decades saw them rise from east coast college frat houses to spreading their unique blend of Ska\, Rock\, and World Beat music across the country and the world. \n\n\n\nAfter relocating to Richmond\, VA\, Fighting Gravity thrived in that robust local music scene\, creating a vast catalog of music with ten independent and one national label release (You and Everybody Else). Extensive touring\, with over 250 dates a year\, in support of these releases created a “live” experience second to none. \n\n\n\nIn 2017\, with a majority of its original members back\, Fighting Gravity returned to the stage again with a full horn section\, performing two nights at the historic National Theater in Richmond\, VA. Their triumphant homecoming was met with a loving response and Proclamation from the City of Richmond – “for their significant contribution to the music\, arts and culture scene\,” that named December 27\, 2017 as Fighting Gravity Day in the City of Richmond. \n\n\n\nThe band has since continued to perform a few select shows each year to the delight of the band and the audience members lucky enough to attend. And we have one of them in 2025! NOTE: this event will have strobe lights.

SUMMARY:Big Sam's Funky Nation
DESCRIPTION:When you think of New Orleans\, the city’s foremost flambeaux-lit traditions of Mardi Gras\, Bourbon Street\, voodoo\, Po’ boys\, beads\, gumbo\, and second line undoubtedly come to mind. You can also count Big Sam’s Funky Nation amongst those NOLA treasures. \n\n\n\nKnown for a heart-thumping blend of funk\, jazz\, rock\, and hip-hop\, nothing short of seismic live experiences\, and a whole lot of Southern charm\, Big Sam’s Funky Nation is no longer The Big Easy’s best kept secret. \n\n\n\nNo other place could birth such an undeniable\, unpredictable\, and downright unique collective. \n\n\n\nThe frontman personally draws on over two decades in the game\, spanning everything from 300 shows per year during his days in the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and gigs backing up Widespread Panic and the Dave Matthews Band\, to recording and touring with Allen Toussaint and Elvis Costello. Additionally\, he would be sought out for a recurring role on the critically acclaimed HBO series Treme & NCIS New Orleans.  \n\n\n\nAs much as Big Sam’s Funky Nation represents the beating heart of New Orleans\, they ultimately do so for funk music as well. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented in partnership with \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtist Hospitality Sponsor\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtist Accommodations Sponsor

SUMMARY:Pat McGee Band
DESCRIPTION:In the 25 years since their initial formation\, The Pat McGee Band has acquired a fanatical popular following\, one that was so determined that it produced sales of over 100\,000 copies of their first three albums and eventually caused Warner Bros. Records to take notice and sign the group to an exclusive contract at the end of the ‘90s. The band’s dedication to working the road was so steadfast that\, at one point in their ten-year touring stint\, they played a remarkable 98 concerts in a period of 103 days. They shared stages with the Who\, the Allman Brothers\, James Taylor\, and many more\, and also achieved the ultimate honors — performing for President Bill Clinton\, touring with the USO\, and sharing their songs onboard the USS Eisenhower with 5\,000 servicemen and servicewomen serving a tour of duty in the Arabian Sea.   \n\n\n\nWeaned on the classic influences of such tightly knit ensembles as the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers\, as well as the Laurel Canyon glow evoked by preeminent ‘70s singer/songwriters such as James Taylor and Jackson Browne\, McGee and his comrades effectively captured their own sense of optimism and exuberance. They reminded listeners why music is both important and inspiring\, particularly to those experiencing both the discoveries and disappointments that accompany one’s coming of age.   \n\n\n\nMcGee remains as active as ever. His last solo album\, an eponymous effort\, found him working with such luminaries as Russ Kunkel\, Leland Sklar\, Waddy Wachtel\, and Danny Kortchmar (better known as The Section)\, David Crosby\, colleague Jeff Pevar\, Paul Barrere of Little Feat\, John Popper of Blues Traveler\, Pat Monahan of Train\, and Punch Brother Gabe Witcher. Pretty rare company. The gatherings McGee continues to preside over — “Down the Hatch” and “Ocean State of Mind” — continue to attract the faithful on an annual basis while reconnecting friends and fans through that common bond that McGee and company have nurtured so successfully over the past 25 years.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented in partnership with \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtist Hospitality Sponsor\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtist Accommodations Sponsor
