Opening Ceremony & Celebration of Danielle Hatch Installation
- Hosted by Robert Goudie, Executive Director RTCA, and Jaynelle Hazard, Executive Director and Curator Tephra ICA
- Poetry Reading, Prof. Heather Streckfus-Green
- Dignitary remarks (including Cong. Connelly, Del. Keys-Gamarra, Sup. Alcorn, & Scott Cryer, Board Chair ArtsFairfax)
- Celebration of a special installation by Arkansas-based artist Danielle Hatch, presented by Reston Community Center with support from Tephra ICA, RTCA, and BXP. Entitled All Is In Motion, Is Growing, Is You, the work features furled fabrics of bold colors and shapes secured to the six pillars surrounding Mercury Fountain Plaza. It is informed by native flowering plants of Northern Virginia and takes inspiration from Reston’s founding and Robert E. Simon’s vision of community building.

- The exhibition invites audiences to simultaneously revel in the beauty of the natural world while considering the entanglement of ecological and human histories
