Join us for an evening of jazz with vocalist and winner of the 2025 Ella Fitzgerald Competition, Clara Campbell, and saxophonist Justin Mendez, two rising artists based in Washington, D.C.. Clara Campbell, featured vocalist with the U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note, is known for her clear tone, nuanced phrasing, and original arrangements. She has toured internationally, performed at major festivals, and shared the stage with jazz artists such as Catherine Russell, Rodney Whitaker, and Pasquale Grasso. Justin Mendez, tenor saxophonist for the U.S. Navy Band Commodores, is recognized for his dynamic sound and versatility. He has performed with Dave Liebman, Delfeayo Marsalis, and Wycliffe Gordon, and appears regularly at festivals across the country. Together, Clara and Justin bring a thoughtful approach to the stage, offering a program that blends timeless standards, original works, and inventive improvisation.
