Origin Records recording artist, Darden Purcell, is a featured soloist with symphony orchestras, big bands and small ensembles; she is band leader; and vocal instructor. Ms. Purcell has shared the stage with Maria Schneider, Joe Locke, Christian McBride, Branford Marsalis, Eric Alexander, Terell Stafford, Walt Weiskopf, Eddie Daniels, Jeff Hamilton, Vaughn Weister, Jim Pugh, Chip McNeill, Chuchito Valdes, Dana Hall, Alan Baylock, Bobby Floyd, Jim Carroll, Charlie Young, Joe McCarthy, the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Navy Band Commodores, USAF Airmen of Note, US Army Blues, Ben Patterson Jazz Orchestra, American Festival Pops Orchestra (Maestro Tony Maiello and Peter Wilson), and the American Pops Orchestra (Maestro Luke Frazier). Dr. Purcell is the Director of Jazz Studies, Jazz Voice instructor, and director of the Downbeat award-winning Mason Jazz Vocal Ensemble at George Mason University.
