Big Al & The Jokers, a nine-piece Latvian band (English lyrics), makes their exclusive U.S. Premiere! Their high-energy jive, swing, R&B, and rock sound — with a full horn section — makes every show feel like a classic dance party! Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Algirdas Shuminskas (“Big Al”), a Lithuanian born singer with a bigger-than-life stage presence, the band’s sets are built for good times—great grooves, big brass, upbeat classics and crowd favorites, a vintage-inspired look, and a dynamic, interactive performance style. A known powerhouse in Europe, the band has shared stages with Smokie, Nazareth, Macy Gray, Scorpions, Boney M, Andy Bridge, and more. And how about this: special introductory remarks both nights from the Latvian Ambassador to the United States! Two sets with a brief break in between. And as if that wasn’t enough, we are extending the fun by having Matt Neiss and the Capitol Bones, the high-energy, get-you-out-of-your-seats, multi-WAMMIE winners from our Friday Jazz Happy Hour with Darden and Friends, open up. So this will be an extended show, Capitol Bones opening at 5:30pm and Big Al taking the stage around 7:30ish. Book it.
