emmet swimming is one of the most successful national touring bands to come out of Virginia, having sold out venues from Boston to Atlanta to Chicago to the West Coast. They have been a regular at Wolf Trap in years past. The band, formed while attending George Mason University in Fairfax, released three CD’s on Epic Records/Sony Music, a part of the HORDE tour, and have opened on national tours for Barenaked Ladies, Dave Mathews Band, The Wallflowers, Sheryl Crow, and more. Their song Arlington was named one of the top five tracks of the year by Fred Bronson of Billboard Magazine and they have received fourteen Washington Area Music Association Awards (WAMMIES), including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. Maybe the only chance to see them locally this year, and you won’t see them for free anywhere! Two sets, with a small break in between.
